Damanoire is the creative direction practice of Sorelya Damanoire, founded in 2026.
The name carries her lineage. Damanoire comes from her mother's family name, which traces back to Damanhour in the Nile Delta of Egypt. To this she joined noire, from the French for night.
The word holds the memory the practice grew from. On a journey along the French Riviera one night, the world outside the window opened into something unexpectedly beautiful, a darkness that felt like a portal into another world. It was her mother who showed her how to look, how a place could open and reveal a world held just beneath its surface. France gave them that word, noire, and learning to see this way is where Damanoire began, long before it had a name.
The name holds what she has carried since childhood: an inheritance reaching back to ancient Egyptian mythology, and a lifelong fascination with the night sky, with the constellations, with cosmology as a way of locating herself in the world. Reading the heavens was how she first learned that myths and symbols could be a form of knowing. Damanoire is where that knowing became a practice.
Sorelya is a creative director whose work moves between research, symbolism, and the building of complete visual worlds. Trained at the Royal College of Art, where she studied environmental architecture, she works in the spirit of a traveller. She gathers meaning wherever she finds it, across the cultures, myths, and material histories she has moved through, and brings it back as a working vocabulary. Across all of it runs one instinct: that objects and brands carry meaning the way constellations do, in patterns a person learns to read.
Damanoire began because the practice Sorelya wanted did not yet exist. She had been building visual languages for others, and she wanted a boutique where research came first, where each commission was led personally, and where meaning was the starting point rather than a finish applied at the end.
The boutique builds a complete visual language for each client it takes on. Every language begins in primary research conducted for that client alone and reaches across every surface the brand will touch. We design the meaning, atmosphere, and symbolic behaviour around luxury objects, brands, campaigns, and spaces. We begin with meaning: what an object asks of the person who holds it, and the ritual it performs in a life. The result is a brand world a person can desire, enter, wear, carry, remember, and pass on.
